Mary Venables, has been a garden designer, consultant and lecturer for over 25 years. She has designed gardens for everything from manor houses, to corporate developments and private back yards. Her area of specialism is garden history, with a specific interest in the 18th century landscape period.
However, Mary’s designs reflect a wider eclectic taste as she has gathered inspiration from around the globe. She has visited the Palace of Catchina’s gardens in St. Petersburg, Russia; the Yu Yuan gardens in Shanghai – famous for the dragon’s head resting on the outer wall; and Piet Oudolf’s inspirational public gardens that thread their way along the Hudson River, New York.
